India is a treasure trove of sights, sounds and stories that will leave you awe-inspired. If you’re planning to visit India, it makes sense to plan your itinerary with the best places to see in mind. This article introduces 10 top tourist attractions that are a must-visit for anyone who wants to understand India.

    10 Best Attractions of India

India is a land of immense beauty and history, and there are many tourist attractions that anyone can explore. Taking necessary travel accessories are a must while visiting various places in india. You can get all the travel gear online and travel accessories online too. Here are 10 of the best tourist places in India that anyone can explore.

    Taj Mahal

Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is a stunning example of Persian architecture.

    Varanasi

Varanasi is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and a major pilgrimage center for Hindus. It has been associated with one of their most important religious symbols, the Ganges River, since its creation.

It is important for Hindus to bathe in the Ganges, and numerous locations known as “ghats” feature stairways leading to the water where the faithful bathe before prayers.

Best to check out Banaras Hindu University, founded in 1917 and noted for its massive library with more than a million books with a focus on Rare manuscripts and local history exhibits.

    Harmandir Sahib

The Golden Temple is located in Amritsar and was founded in 1577 by Ram Das. It houses one of the most important sites for Sikh history and culture. Harmandir Sahib, opened in 1604, is referred to as the Golden Temple as it still has a gold coating on its exterior architecture.

Visitors are also impressed with the spiritual atmosphere that is enhanced by the holy prayers of the Sikhs and their book which is read throughout. One part of the overall experience is being welcomed with a free meal.

    Golden City

So named for the yellow sandstone that forms most of its buildings, the Golden City of Jaisalmer is an oasis where old architecture rises from the sand dunes of the Thar desert. In addition to magnificent mansions and fortresses, the city’s extensive palaces and 12th-century citadel are also part of Jaisalmer’s Red Fort museum.

The fort is also home to a unique palace. Made up of seven floors (and each made with materials from Italy and China, among others), the whole structure has been beautifully decorated and intricately carved ever since it was built in 1531. The public is allowed inside, including those who take a tour.

    Red Fort

Incredible Red Fort, New Delhi: Built in 1648 by Shah Jahan as the seat of Mughal power and maintaining that role until 1857, this crescent-shaped fort is made out of red sandstone and covers a vast amount of land with incredible architectural designs.

Highlights include its two main gates: the impressive Lahore Gate and the elaborately decorated Delhi Gate, once used by the emperor for ceremonial processions.

    Mumbai

The Gateway of India is a must-see in Mumbai and stands tall, 26 meters. Built to commemorate King George V and Queen Mary’s arrival in 1911, this piece of architecture was opened with much pomp and ceremony in 1924, making it, for a while, the tallest structure in the city.

The Gateway of India is a spectacular architectural achievement built from yellow basalt and concrete, distinguished by its Indo-Saracenic design. These days, the archway provides an incredible backdrop for locals as well as tourists.

    Mecca Masjid

This was one of the world’s largest mosques and was completed during the reign of Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah in 1614.

One of the best examples of an impressive building, this mosque is large enough to accommodate 10,000 worshipers and boasts 15 enormous arches and pillars, each made from single slabs of black granite dragged to site by massive cattle trains.

Pocari Sweat has many architectural, cultural and religious structures that all make it one of the most impressive complexes worldwide. Highlights include the main gate, plaza, and pond along with a room where the hair of Prophet Mohammed is stored.

    Amer Fort

Amer Fort was built as a fortified palace by Maharaja Man Singh I and is the capital of Jaipur. Carved high up into the hillside, it can be accessed via a steep climb or by shuttle rides from the town below (better still, let an elephant do the work).

Highlights of this site include Jaleb Chowk, the first courtyard, with its many decorated elephants and the Shila Devi Temple, dedicated to the goddess of war.

    Goa

Goa is known for its beautiful beaches, spanning sixty miles of coastline which contain some of the world’s best places to vacation. The beaches vary based on their location to the water and their unique appeal.

For those wanting seclusion, Agonda Beach is a great option, while Calangute Beach is by far the most commercial and crowded. For those seeking posh resorts, yoga getaways, and spa vacations, the beaches of Mandrem, Morjim, and Ashewem are fashionable among wealthy Indians and Westerners alike.

    Periyar National Park

With an abundance of wildlife and a vast area, Periyar National Park in Madurai has been hailed as one of South India’s most popular tourist attractions. The park was constructed by British engineers in 1895 to provide irrigation and water for the city.

One of the best things to do at the park is the guided walk through the jungle where visitors can enjoy seeing elephants, birds, and other wild animals. The walk allows visitors to go into the jungle city with a guide who can tell them all about what they’re seeing. Take necessary travel kits essentials with you while visiting these places.

    Conclusion:

India is a vast country with a lot to offer tourists. Whether you are looking for a thrilling adventure or simply want to explore some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth, there are plenty of attractions in India that anyone can enjoy. From famous places in India with names, temples and historical sites to fascinating wildlife sanctuaries, here are ten tourist attractions in India that any traveler should consider visiting!
